Qualification:
Qualified Pharmacist/ Pharm D degree from (HEC & PPC recognized institution only) and currently registered with PPC

Experience: 
Minimum 10 years of experience in Hospital and few years of administrative role will be preferred

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

As post holder, you are responsible for the tasks such as but not limited to the following:  

Medicine supply to the patient

  • Assess the urgency and severity of presenting problems and provide medicines as per the need of the patient prescribed by the physician or consultant.  
  • Ability to interpret and understand prescriptions, formularies, and drug pharmacological actions and consult and communicate with other healthcare professionals as required.  
  • Provide drug and poison management information to healthcare staff and patients.  
  • Timely refill running and accurately checking it to ensure timely delivery.   
  • Maintains strict control over the distribution and usage of controlled drugs, such as narcotics.
  • Monthly floor stock inspection for proper storage of drugs and near-expiry drug replacement.  
  • Provide training to Resident/Trainee pharmacists and novice staff in pharmacy, accurate and timely completion of expiry drug list on a monthly basis (current and 3 months)
  • Extemporaneous compounding, booking, and preparation.  
  • Preparation of cytotoxic drug, TPN solution and ensure timely delivery" (if assigned)
  • Preparation of bulk compounding and record keeping.

Financial 

  • Compliance

           Ensure all patient services undertaken are charged out by appropriate protocols.

  • Invoicing & Dispensing

All invoices should be generated through Fotis and handed over to the patient/customer. Properly counsel the patient while dispensing. Carefully   handle the cash.

IT System Management

  • Accuracy of information

All information you enter into the Fotis should be accurate, appropriate, and by agreed protocols, and must maintain all the records of the sale and purchase of the stock.

Communication

  • External

Professional liaison with other health professionals in BIH is maintained.

Internal

All staff are informed, as appropriate, about anything that they should be aware of regarding a patient, or the internal workings of the department. Staff and team meetings are attended as requested.

  • Staff problems or issues

All staff problems or issues are referred to the pharmacist in the first instance. Quality

  • Audit

Participation in clinical audit as a clinical or administrative indication. Participate in quality improvement systems.

Compliance

  • Complaints

All complaints are to be referred to the Facility Manager/pharmacist in the first instance. If unresolved then you are expected to co-operate with other resolution methods by the Chief Medical Officer / Admin.

  • Privacy Act

Total confidentiality and privacy of patients is maintained.

  • Health & Safety

Comply with health and safety policies about handling of instruments, storage of drugs, and disposal of sharps and other potentially dangerous equipment and substances.

  • Other Duties

Hours of work are set out in the Employment Agreement, however, there may be times when you are required to undertake other duties outside of these hours as requested. This may involve attendance at meetings, staff meetings, or training sessions.

  • Fotis Training

Invoicing shall not start before the Fotis training and command.

  • Cleanliness

Ensure that the pharmacy is always well-arranged and clean.

  • Inventory Management

        Support Manager Pharmacy in all inventory management tasks regularly like requisition, transfer, receiving, checking, FEFO-wise placement, shift-wise                counting, expiry management & dead stock reporting.
